Gemma and Paul got married at Little Channels on Saturday 25th June 2022. We were honoured to watch them tie the knot with their closest friends and family. The intimacy of their wedding day was very special and I’m sure you will agree, they both looked absolutely beautiful.
They were kind enough to let us ask some in depth questions about their experience, and how they went about planning their big day. Keep reading if you’d like to find out more about real weddings and experiences at Little Channels.
Tell us about when Paul popped the question…
Paul & I got engaged on the 26th November 2020, so really we had a really short engagement even after I kept saying I wanted a long one I couldn’t wait to get planning! It was my birthday and I’d opened my card which read ‘happy birthday wifey’ on the front. This kind of joke wasn’t unusual for Paul as he knew I’d wanted to get engaged for such a long time and just passed it off completely as a typical thing he’d do. So we’d continued our morning, opened all my presents and had just sat down to have a hot chocolate and I could see him pacing the living room which was quite strange, when I asked him “what are you doing?” He said “nothing, I’m coming to sit down.”
Well he didn’t sit down, he got down on one knee and the rest is history.
Why did you choose Little Channels as your Wedding venue?
Paul & I had chosen little channels way before we were engaged. We knew we wanted a small, intimate wedding and being a typical girl had planned so many details before I was even engaged as I had a vision and knew what I wanted and luckily Paul completely let me run with it.
Shortly after getting engaged we booked an appointment with Little Channels and as soon as we stepped foot we knew that was exactly where we wanted to get married. We had an amazing appointment with Dannielle who went through everything with us and explained all the different options and dates available and we set our date, 25th June 2022.
What was your vision for your Wedding day?
Little channels had everything we wanted from our vision, from the cutest fairy lights around the beams, to gorgeous views outside and a beautiful rustic feel. Our colour scheme was dusty pink and I think it really was complimented beautifully by the venue itself. The pinks really helped bring out a summery feel for the wedding.
Describe your Wedding in 3 words…
In 3 words I’d describe our wedding as, intimate, relaxed and amazing.
Did you have any entertainment at your Wedding?
We had hired an ice cream bike to keep mostly the children and some adults entertained and happy during the welcome drinks and pictures. This was so lovely and our little boy loved going back time and time again for more ice cream! We also had a crèche to cover our wedding breakfast. All our guests under the age of 11 were set up in the ceremony room to eat and play and relax after what was quite a long full on day for some of them. This made all of the difference for us as it allowed us to enjoy the wedding breakfast & speeches without a worry of what our children were doing.
Most memorable moment…
It’s hard to pick one moment of our day as a highlight but a moment that really holds a place in my heart is walking into our wedding breakfast after being introduced as ‘the new Mr & Mrs Eady’. Seeing all our favourite people in one room, smiling and cheering us on made my heart burst… but equally our first dance was so special to me. We chose Van Morisson – Have I told you lately which I still can’t listen to now without all the memories flooding back.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Exactly a week after our wedding we flew out to Marmaris, Turkey.
We spent our days relaxing, jet skiing, quad biking and enjoying a week of being husband and wife.
What advice would you give to other couples planning their Wedding?
100% take 5 minutes in full swing of the evening with your husband or wife outside just to take it all in (the swing outside is a perfect spot). Â Also, if you want something and it’s in your budget do it! Because you only get one shot so make it as perfect as possible. And finally, don’t sweat the small details. Things will go wrong on the day but trust me, it won’t bother you as your day will be perfect no matter what.
