Spring has sprung here at The Waltham Barns at Little Channels. The weather may not have totally caught up with the new season quite yet, but the daffodils are out, the blossom is starting to bloom, and the evenings are getting lighter and lighter.
As wedding obsessives, our events team loves weddings during all the seasons, and we truly believe there are pros to tying the knot during them all. But seeing as spring has just arrived, we’re going to focus today’s blog on what we love about spring weddings – and there is indeed a great deal to like!
If you’re considering getting married during the spring, or are looking for spring wedding inspiration, you’re in the right place.
The variety of flowers
When we think of spring, one of the very first things that springs to mind (no pun intended!) is the flowers.
Couple getting married during the spring are truly spoilt for choice when it comes to wedding flowers, with so many beautiful blooms in season. Spring flowers include tulips, peonies, anemones, Lily of the valley, sweet peas and more. You literally have pick of the bunch when creating stunning floral centrepieces and bouquets.
And the spring flowers and trees in your surroundings make for gorgeous wedding photos, too.
If you’ve always dreamt of a romantic wedding with a strong floral theme, then a spring wedding is ideal.
The colour palettes
Spring weddings lend themselves to several stunning colour palettes.Â
Most notable is a romantic, pastel colour scheme which is timeless and classic. Think gentle pinks, yellows, peaches and purples. Or you could go bright with more primary colours reminiscent of cheerful daffodils and bluebells.
If you prefer more muted tones, then we also think a neutral, earthy colour palette works perfectly in spring (and in all seasons in fact), using colours such as creams, greens and beiges.Â
The symbol of new beginnings
Spring carries symbols which are particularly emotive and apt for weddings.
The spring months are when nature reawakens – buds appear and then bloom, animals are born and the days get brighter and brighter.
Getting married can also been seen as a beautiful new beginning – a watershed moment in you and your partner’s lives when you begin a new life together.
You can most certainly weave spring’s symbols into your wedding ceremony and theme, which is something that appeals to many couples.
The use of our outdoor spaces
We’re blessed with several lovely outside spaces here at The Waltham Barns, including our wedding garden and flagged courtyard. These areas really come into their own during the spring and summer.
Enjoy drinks and games on the wedding garden lawn, indulge in a tasty BBQ in the courtyard, and simply use them as a place for guests to mingle, dance, get some fresh air and enjoy the spring weather.
And if that spring weather is a little, shall we say, changeable (we’re thinking of April showers!), then the beauty of our venue is that you’re free to pop inside and outside, to make the most of the sunny spells and stay out of any showers.
