Charlotte & Jamie
“Tell us a little bit about you as a couple, when you met, how long you’ve been together, how/when you got engaged”
As a couple we are the best of friends. We love being around each other and are always very supportive of one another.
How did we meet? Well, being a firefighter, Jamie would like to be able to say he fought his way into a burning building, climbed up hundreds of stairs, kicked doors in and carried Charlotte out to safety in his arms – however, this isn’t the case… the truth is… we are (shamefully) a successful tinder story! We have been together 4 years now.
How did we get engaged? Jamie always expressed how marriage wasn’t a massive deal to him, so Charlotte being naive never expected a proposal (well not anytime soon anyway!) Sadly Charlotte’s mum fell poorly in early May, receiving the devastating news she didn’t have long left. On 25th May 2019 Jamie got down on one knee in our home and popped the question and guess what, Charlotte said yes! We went straight to the hospital to tell Charlotte’s mum the wonderful news. We are so glad she got to know we would be spending the rest of our lives together.
“Why did you choose The Waltham Barns for your special day?”
We chose The Waltham Barns for a few reasons:
Firstly – After having to re-plan our wedding due to the COVID-19 restrictions we were looking for a venue to host a small intimate wedding and after looking around The Waltham Barns we didn’t need to look any further, it was a very quick decision that we wanted our special day to be held there.
Secondly – Jason and Dannielle were so accommodating and understanding throughout the whole process, from our very first consultation to our final planning meeting nothing was too much. Any questions we had were answered straight away – from this we knew our day was in great hands!
Lastly – It is an absolutely stunning venue and the food is incredible! What else could you want?!?
“What was the most memorable part of the day for you?“
Apart from making our vows to one another… The most memorable part of the day was seeing the main room for the first time. We were both completely taken back by how stunning it looked. The wedding team at The Waltham Barns had made our fairy tale wedding a reality, and that is something we will never forget.
“What was your thought process behind the colour scheme & themes that were prominent throughout your wedding?“
I think this one is for Charlotte… It goes back to being that crazy little girl in Walt Disney World every year skipping past Cinderella’s Castle and firmly stating to my parents… ‘I’ll get married to my Prince Charming here one day….’ From this it was quite obvious that our main theme would be Disney. Jamie had to kind of come to terms with this obsession when he met me (the poor guy!)
As for our colour scheme, I have always been drawn towards corals, peaches and dusky pinks. They are just so beautiful, neutral and summery. As we were originally due to get married in the summer (before the wonderful COVID took over) this colour scheme was a must for us!
