As 2020 slowly draws to a close, we wanted to put together a small collection of weddings hosted this year at The Waltham Barns, all of which followed socially distanced guidelines.
At this moment in time, the future of weddings is still somewhat out of focus. We’ve no idea how things are going to play out over the next year. However we wanted to help inspire couples who are considering an intimate wedding which follows government guidelines, and show you that small weddings can be just as, if not more beautiful than the big wedding you’ve been planning.
Dean & Chloe
“Tell us a little bit about you as a couple, when you met, how long you’ve been together, how/when you got engaged”
‘Dean works as a welder and Chloe works as a receptionist in a law firm. We met six years ago when we were both out with our friends having a few drinks in our local town. We had an instant connection and we started dating shortly after. Four years later while on holiday in Rome Dean popped the question at the Trevi Fountain. It’s been a rollercoaster trying to plan a wedding in the middle of the pandemic, not knowing if it’s going to go ahead one minute the next! There has been a lot of ups and downs, which was the case right up to a week before our wedding day when the latest announcement came out that wedding receptions could go ahead again. Then came the mad rush to organise everything in just a few days. Thankfully our special day went ahead, and we only had to make a few alterations and have a few less guests than we had originally planned. Our special day went without a hitch and we couldn’t of asked for a more perfect day. Our wedding wouldn’t of gone as smoothly if it wasn’t for Jason and the team at Little Channels who made us feel safe and relaxed considering we are in the middle of the pandemic’.
“Why did you choose The Waltham Barns for your special day?”
‘We wanted a small, intimate wedding and instantly fell in love with Little Channels when we went to look around shortly after getting engaged. The staff were very warm and welcoming and helped out with any questions we had along the way. We also had been recommended Little Channels by some family friends who had their wedding at the venue’.
“What was the most memorable part of the day for you?”
‘The most memorable part of the day was walking down the aisle and seeing all our guests having to wear face masks during the ceremony’.
“What was your thought process behind the colour scheme & themes that were prominent throughout your wedding?”
We went for lilac which is a warm colour and grey which is a neutral colour as we liked how these complemented each other nicely and worked well together. We went for a rustic theme to complement the barn décor at the venue.
