Have you heard the news? The Waltham Barns have re-opened for wedding ceremonies! Yay!
We’re so excited to see the barns back in use again, even if we’re not allowed the evening celebrations just yet.
Whether you’ve had to cancel your wedding, or put it on hold indefinitely, having a small and socially distanced wedding could be the solution you’re looking for.
So, how does it work?… The Waltham Barns has been cleared for wedding ceremonies only, for up to 30 guests. This means you and your partner can officially get married, surrounded by a handful of your closest family and friends.
If this is something you’re seriously considering, make sure you count your guests carefully. The 30 people rule MUST include yourself, your partner, the two registrars and any other suppliers you might be having, such as a photographer.
You’ll also be able to enjoy an intimate wedding breakfast, plus speeches in celebration of your wedding day. As it stands at the moment, evening receptions are not being permitted, however we’re keeping our fingers and toes crossed that it shouldn’t be much longer until this rule is relaxed.
In addition to your wedding ceremony and breakfast, you’ll also have the opportunity to take photos within our brand new wedding garden and our beautifully maintained grounds.
On the morning of your wedding, you’ll need somewhere to get ready with your wedding party. You can either do this within your own home, or at a family members/friends, or, if your party is from the same household you could book a room at the stunning Channels Hotel. Make sure to get in touch with the hotel directly, to discuss what their own distancing guidelines are.
There are many perks to having a last minute / small wedding. Not only will you save money and hours and hours of planning, but you’ll also enjoy a more intimate setting, celebrating with those who really mean the most to you. You could even go another step further, get married this year, and plan a huge party for 2021/2022! This will give you more time to plan and save up for those little extras you couldn’t get for your official wedding day.
You also needn’t worry if you’re a bit nervous about doing things last minute. Your personal wedding coordinator will be able to offer you advice and assistance throughout the whole process, so you can rest easy knowing your wedding day will run smoothly.
Please bear in mind that if you’re looking to get married this year, dates for our venue and registrars might be limited. Make sure to get your plans into action as soon as possible and get in touch with our team to check availability. > 01245 362210 | [email protected]
